Montauk is a seasonal beach town past the Hamptons. I find it to be the perfect cozy winter getaway where you can enjoy the beauty of this town without the crowds or the inflated prices. I’ve put together a guide on where to stay, eat and what to do.
I’ve been spending a lot of time in Montauk this past winter preparing for our spring wedding out here. Many of the trendy hotel spots are closed but Gurney’s Resort & Seawater Spa is open all year round (with off-season rates). Stay here if you want luxury. As a guest, you gain access to their gym, sauna, Russian bath, and pool. Most importantly, there is a firepit outside with the most gorgeous views of the ocean.
On my way into Montauk, I stop at a few places in Amagansett for healthy snacks. I love Organic Krush and Jacks Stir Brew. Organic Krush is a small health food restaurant and market. Jacks Stir Brew is a coffee house also offering a selection of clean eating snacks and kombucha! Both are about a 10-minute drive from Montauk.
My favorite thing to do on a winter get-away is to go to the spa followed by snuggling up with a book or watching a movie with room service. Gurney’s is the perfect spot for this. If you want more activity, there are hiking trails, a lighthouse to explore and you might just spot a few seals in the water.
Montauk is one of my favorite places to recharge. I love the quiet the of the town this time of year and the ocean views are just as lovely in the off-season.
